Summary Scanful does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Every scan is decoded and stored only on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.

1. Who we are

Scanful (the "App") is a free QR and barcode scanner for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles and how. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect

None. Scanful does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us or to any third party. Specifically:

We do not require an account, sign-in, or email address.
We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP addresses, or location data.
We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or marketing SDKs.
We do not contact any server. The App works fully offline.

3. Camera access

The App requests access to your device's camera (NSCameraUsageDescription) for the sole purpose of detecting and decoding QR codes and barcodes in real time. The camera feed is processed entirely on-device using Apple's AVFoundation framework. No images, frames, or video are recorded, saved, or transmitted.

You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Scanful.

4. Scan history (stored on your device)

When the App decodes a code, it stores the result (the decoded text, the code type, and a timestamp) on your device using Apple's SwiftData. This history exists only on your iPhone and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. You can delete entries individually or in bulk from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all stored history.

5. Links in scanned codes

When a scanned code contains a URL, Scanful displays it as plain text and waits for your explicit tap before opening it in Safari. The App never opens, prefetches, or follows links automatically.

6. Third-party services

Scanful does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, payment processors, or social media features. The App does not embed any web content or external trackers.

7. Children's privacy

Scanful is suitable for users of all ages. Because the App does not collect any personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

8. Your rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. All data you generate by using the App (your scan history) resides on your device and is fully under your control.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
